# Obtaining the token

The Food Forest Sardegna project, having decided to operate in an unconventional manner and therefore proposing a different approach to the community economy, initially endeavoured to use the blockchain technology provided by Waves, in which the [Food Forest Token](https://www.foodforesttoken.site/) was created and issued. Subsequently, thanks to the creation of the proprietary blockchain by Food Forest Sardegna, now officially recognised as the Sardinian National Blockchain (BNS), the Food Forest Token became its native token and can be viewed through its explorer at [https://esploradore.blockchainnatzionalesarda.online/ ](https://esploradore.blockchainnatzionalesarda.online/).

As the token is a direct resource for community participants who espouse the ethics outlined in the [white paper](/educational-library/2/white-paper.md), it is already possible to acquire it directly through participation in FFT-sponsored activities from FFS, or through the many forms available, such as decentralised trading (for the Waves version of the FFT), philanthropic donations to the project, direct purchase by bank transfer or credit/debit card. For obtaining the Native FFT on BNS, a direct request must be made.<br>
